The Coursan-Armissan Union of Wine Cooperatives was created in 2000 when the two cooperatives, with similar background but with different "terroirs" (parcels with different soil, microclimates and exposures), joined forces. The Coursan Wine Cooperative was established in 1936 and the Armissan Wine Cooperative in 1939.
The two sites are mutually complementary and are developing their
own specialisations as a result of their different geographical situations and winemaking equipment.
The Armissan Wine Cooperative specialises mainly in vinifying and aging premium red wines.
The Coursan Wine Cooperative produces the other red wines, as well as rosé and
white wines. |
